Which of the desires mentioned here: (women (or men), children, wealth of gold and silver, horses, cattle and land) do I love?
Desires that I love in this world include: My husband, my children and some wealth (little jewellery, clothes and shoes).
Do I spend my time and energy on them? How can I pass the test?
YES! I spend most of my time and energy on my kids and husband. Feeding them, keeping the house clean for them, teaching them, training them, etc. Also, I spend some of my time and energy on buying good things with the wealth and collecting them.
I can pass the test, by making sure I always have the correct Niyyah. Islam is a way of life. It’s not a separate entity. It should be a part of everything I do. If I take care of my husband, then my niyyah should be that Allah would be pleased with me, if I please my husband. When I take care of my kids, educate them and build their character, my niyyah should be that they pass on the good knowledge to the entire mankind. When I buy good things (moderately), then my niyyah should be that Allah loves beautiful things and I can share my things with the less fortunate.
