Our Purpose in Life [Ahadith]


بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الذَّارِعُ، – وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ – قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَثَّامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعْقِدُ التَّسْبِيحَ ‏.

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:”I saw the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم     counting tasbih on his fingers.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏َ “‏ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ رَبَّهُ وَالَّذِي لاَ يَذْكُرُ مَثَلُ الْحَىِّ وَالْمَيِّتِ ‏”‏‏.‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Musa  رضى الله عنهRasul Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم  said, “The example of the one who celebrates the Praises of his Lord (Allah) in comparison to the one who does not celebrate the Praises of his Lord, is that of a living creature compared to a dead one.”

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ،
عُثْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى
الله عليه وسلم “‏ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ مَدَحَ نَفْسَهُ وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ
أَغْيَرَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ حَرَّمَ الْفَوَاحِشَ ‏”‏ ‏.

‘Abdullah  رضى الله عنه reported Rasul Allah صلى الله عليه وسلمas saying: “Nothing is more loveable to Allah than His praise as He has praised Himself and no one is more self-respecting than Allah Himself and it is because of this that He has prohibited abominable acts.”
